Final day, it came so fast! Maurice took us to Lurgan in the morning to see the WW II exhibition at Brownlow house. The house is beautiful and now hosts a tea room, weddings and quite an extensive exhibit about the American presence in the area during WWII. Certainly interesting to me as I would not be here if an American GI had not met and married a young Lurgan girl. We spent quite a bit of time in the exhibit which included a 30 minute WWII film about American soldiers in Northern Ireland. Not sure who or why that was made, but it was quite interesting
We took a quick look at the house and then headed back for lunch and pack up
Drive back to the car hire at Dublin Airport was well executed although perhaps a tad on the speedy side. Took the shuttle back to the Holiday Inn Express and took advantage of the gorgeous warm and sunny day to have a walk in the park directly across from the hotel. Wow! Park is huge, beautiful, and filled with parents and children, adults playing field games, runners, bikers and just about anything else that you can imagine. It has a wonderful childrens playground and a couple of outdoor exercise stations.
And a final trip shout out to the Dublin Airport for really cool feedback system and Global Entry for saving us from a nasty looking US customs line
