An interesting start…

It snowed all day Wednesday. Felt like a nudge from Mother Nature that was indeed time to move along to somewhere warm and sunny. We had an easy start to our trip although we did manage to be the last ones on the plane. We had front row seats and pleny of room as the flight was only about half full. We were treated to a gorgeous sunset over the clouds as night fell

Immigration at the airport was staffed by one person and had no interest in baggage or complicated questions. We got our rental car and with not an inch to spare managed to get all of this into a VW hatchback

Ride to Ti Colibri was executed flawlessly which is no mean feat, and we were feeling very good as we pulled in around 10:30 PM. It’s really, really dark at the bungalows. We could see one car parked outside a bungalow but all of the lights were out in the bungalow and the doors on the other 3 bungalows were all locked. Hmmm. Au revoir easy, smooth sailing trip! I called Natalie’sĀ  number but it went to voicemail. I sent an email as well . We sat on the porch of a bungalow pondering our next move and trying not to think about water. Our unexpectedly hasty need to board the plane prevented us from filling our water bottle and the airport had no water fountain so we were very parched.

The phone rang around 11 – Natalie seemed surprised that we had arrived and was not in the area. She assured us that she would call Tony and we should stay put. That all happened with my zero french and her very limited english but we got through it and sure enough, Tony arrived in aboutĀ  15 minutes. The bungalow had not been readied but he swiftly put that to rights and we collapsed in to bed aroud midnight.

It’s warm, the stars are beautiful and all is well.
