An A+ and a Wow

Tom finished assembling Pearl and took her for the usual test ride to make sure all was tight and ready for the stoker.

Test ride after finally getting Pearl back together.

We loaded Pearl into the Sienna (fit was great) and drove to a nearby park on the Tucson Loop. The Loop is currently 110 miles of shared use path in and beyond metro Tucson. If it doesn’t have a motor it’s allowed on the loop!

The section of the loop that we rode is along the Rillito river.

Absolutely merits an A+ grade: pristine pavement, no road crossings in the 17 miles that we rode, lots of little parks and excellent facilities. Interesting that the road conditions in Tucson are horrible, but check out the pavement on the Loop

They have exit ramps that will take you up to major streets and intersections but the Loop path is routed via underpasses and other means to avoid street crossings. Pearl loved it!

Restroom area was pretty awesome with a full sink, a fountain, and a water bottle filler! Nice amenities on this Loop!

We drove out to Sabino Canyon in the afternoon. Had a few minutes for a quick walk through a nature trail by the visitors center and then hopped on the tram for a ride to the top of the Canyon. Loved the Saguaros and other plants on the nature trail

The ride up to the top of the canyon was gorgeous! There were a number of small bridges where the river flowed over them making this a bit of an Arizona version of the Boston Duck Tours! We got off at the top of the canyon and walked down to the next tram stop to enjoy the scenery and get some pictures. Sabino Canyon is a Wow!

Dinner at Zayna’s (Mediterranean), yum! Tired and happy!
