We have the airport drop down pat now. Pearl and I hang at the terminal while Tom parks the car
Flight to Phoenix was uneventful. Getting two aisle seats worked out great especially because plane was full. Picked up a Toyota Sienna and headed for Tucson. Scenery was pretty crappy most of the way. A lot like this
Improved some as we got closer to Tucson but we were then driving through strip mall heaven! The house we rented, Casa De Sonrisa is just awesome although neighborhood is a tad on the funky side – we don’t mind funky. The owners are now antique refurbishers in the UK (he is from UK) and it shows in the decor. Here’s the sign from the Arizona dude ranch that she grew up on and a picture of our front window view.
Tom discovered a food co-op in Tucson so we headed there after we dropped the bags at the house. Interesting neighborhood that included a medical marijuana certification center next door to a sexual rejuvenation store! Fortunately, there was also an old school mediocre type Italian restaurant with a nice patio where we had dinner (Carusos). It was hard to capture, but these huge trees on the patio were swarming with very noisy birds.
Food co-op was really nice! Tom took some pictures and we got basic supplies, many of which went into our breakfast scramble this morning! Bike assembly and ride planning are now getting underway.
