Day 8, 45 miles

Beautiful sunny day! Our choice was 44 miles along the ridge or 45 along the coast. The coast ride had a bit less climbing so we chose that but it still clocked in at 2200 feet with pretty much all of that in the first 20 miles. Proud that we climbed every hill on this trip and there were plenty!

Jeannie was given a send-off by Big Bear who accompanies Rich and Lindy on all of their tours.

We stopped at one point by a pretty little pond to verify that we’d made the right turn. Rich and Lindy happened to be passing by so they hopped out of the car and took our picture

We stopped for lunch at the Barcelona Cafe, about 18 miles from Dunkirk. As we were ordering I looked at a nearby table and saw Tom’s aunt Mildred, who we plan on visiting Sunday, having lunch with friends! Tom went over and had a nice chat and we’ll be returning to the exact same cafe for lunch on Sunday.

We rolled into Dunkirk around 4, both happy to be off the bike – 45 miles was a lot for the final day! Excellent dinner and farewells last night. This was a wonderful group of people to ride with

and I expect we’ll be doing many more Rich and Lindy tours in the future.
