It’s not all about being pretty Pearl

We’d packed some instant coffee and a couple of small almond milks so we were able to have our morning coffee before heading in to Saint Francois to get supplies. Had to go way, way down past the marina to find parking but we walked back through the marina and found a place with quiche slices so that took care of breakfast.

Not sure why the grocery store in Saint Francois is called the HyperCasino, but it is a busy place with everything you need to stock up. We picked up our favorites from last trip: fresh salad ingredients, eggs, ham, cheese, fruit and a baguette from the boulangerie right outside the store, and of course, some wine. Also grabbed a couple of beach towels on the way back. Wish we had remembered to bring those!

Plan was to set up Pearl and take a short ride. Going well until the Rohloff, once again, decided to lose 2 gears. Tom and I both fiddled with until we ran out of ideas. By then it was 5:30 so we did the only sensible thing and gave up, poured some wine, had a great dinner on our little porch under the stars. No hurry – we have a plan!  Pearl settled in to looking pretty although rather incomplete on the porch.
