So we have this map with bike stickers. I think that’s maybe an extra bit of motivation to seek out riding opportunities wherever we are visiting. The amount of beer we’ve been drinking is a factor as well! We drove to Shelby Farms Park this morning and rented bikes to ride their Greenway. I got a nice 3 speed cruiser that actually fit me just fine and Tom had a hybrid. The Greenway was really pretty and mercifully shady for most of the way. We did end up in a long conversation with a local cyclists at one of the water stops – that was out in the beating sun but enjoyed talking with him. At one point the trail went under whole lot of highway
But most of it looked more like this
Um, not under water, that is a scenic view from one of the bridges.
Here’s little old lady on cruiser bike
Excellent and much needed shower back at the hotel and then had a quick salad at a local deli. Drove to Sun Studio but their next tour opening was 90 minutes away (forgot about indigenous peoples day) and there is absolutely nothing else in that area to see. The when to the Burke House, an Underground railroad museum but discovered they close at 4 and it was already 3:30.
Back at the hotel planning tomorrow and will go out for dinner and music on Beale Street tonight. Some serious looking storms threatening. Hope they bring the temperature down
