We picked a 20 mile ride today starting from St Armands town hall. We were quickly riding down rural roads with virtually no traffic and not many houses. The terrain was rolling hills and heavily wooded so it was just delightful for a hot and humid day.
We had a bit of cue sheet confusion which we realized when we hit the main road but we turned around, got back on track and eventually ran into another one of the tandems who very kindly waited for us to make sure we made the next turn. That turn left is down a very steep and winding road to the Franklin falls recreation area. The falls are no more as a dam was built there but what a beautiful place to stop
Lots of other tandems came while we were there as a number of the rides came by the falls. The ride finished along the river, 21 miles, 1100 feet climbing. Delightful! We stopped in for yet another social and food event at Rich and Lindy’s and said our goodbyes around 2. So glad we did this. Great group of people and ride leaders. We’ll definitely be travelling with gear-to-go in the future.
