A no worries day

Tom started working on the Pearl assembly this morning and I started looking at maps for the Tucson Loop and other area activities. Pearl was rather uncooperative so it took a long time to get the frame back together and one of the tires appears to have a pinch flat as well.

We did the only sensible thing in that situation and left the whole mess in the living room and headed off in search of lunch and some Arizona scenery. Here’s a shot of the planning center this morning; temps are hitting the low 80s today

Lunch was at Frank & Franciscos which is Frank’s greasy spoon diner during the day and Francisoco’s Mexican restaurant at night. We’ll be back there I’m sure!

We took a drive to Gates Pass, stopping at several overlooks to soak up the scenery.

Roads were narrow, windy, and quite steep in places but apparently popular with cyclists given the number of Share the Road signs. Saw one cyclist on the steepest and longest climb – Tour de France level biking, very impressive! Some  other cyclists being ferried to the top of that section by a friend. That would be way more my speed!

Now it’s back to finish assembling the bike. We’ll make some pasta and roasted veg to compensate for the diner lunch and have a quiet evening in the Casa.

Lots of local asparagus at the co-op!
