We got a pretty early start this morning but noticed right away that the google map lady was showing a 2 hour delay on the Delaware Memorial Bridge. We both assumed it would clear up later but that was not to be! Apparently there was an inspection of the Delaware Bridge that was so alarming that all lanes except one were shut down so they could do cable repair. Right, no way was I going to cross that bridge! We detoured ourselves around that hazard and eventually landed in Rehoboth Beach and the Pirates Cove Motel. Very basic but nice and clean.
The bar across the street is reopening soon. Wonder if we should return for the ManDance?
We took a short drive to the beach area. Very typical but nice beach town with boardwalk and the usual beach type shops and food. We had planned to have dinner at the DogFish Brew Pub and that’s where I thought we entered. Turned out it was a new restaurant, next door to the Brew Pub, featuring their new distillery line and cocktails. Interesting blend of spirits and Dogfish beers. I very much enjoyed my sampling flight and our dinners were excellent. Highpoint for me was fresh and fabulous asparagus!
My favorite was the Moscow Mule! Also loved their oyster shell lighting
