Mondays are great in Guadeloupe! Woke up to fantastic sunshine and enjoyed the fruit that Natalie gave us and Tom’s airport cheese and cracker package. In great need of supplies and some coffee, we took a drive into St. Francois and parked at the first Boulangerie we saw for a coffee. I indulged in a ham and cheese croissant just to say that I had tried the local food and we grabbed a baguette for later.
Walked into fringes of town and picked up a few necessities like beach towels and some basic provisions at a small market. We then headed back to Ti Colibri and tackled the Pearl assembly job. All was fairly smooth til we got to the rohloff. I think we learned some things that will help in the future and we both stayed pretty chill through the process. Kind of helps that we were doing it on a lovely bungalow porch with a nice breeze.
Took a test ride and all seems good. Around 7 we headed off to a local restaurant but it and several others in the area were closed. That resulted in a fantastic porch picnic featuring the baguette and other provisions from earlier – Yum!
Also on the table you see juice that natalie made from local hubiscus like flower. Delicous!
