Here’s where we went today
These were the first animals we saw on the way in. Gee, they held very still for their photo!
I know I really shouldn’t mention this just in case Katie is reading, but it was mid 80s today with not a cloud in the sky. Yes, it was just too hot at times! We started with a bus tour of the park and that was a good orientation. This is a very big zoo!
I won’t do this in order, but here’s some classic zoo inhabitants. As far as habitat goes, I wouldn’t rate San Diego any higher than Denver but certainly more variety
San Diego has Pandas! We saw the mom and the baby panda. Apparently she is a prolific mom and, as is standard, cares for the babies until they are about 18 months old and then literally wants to be completely separated from them.
San Diego also has an australian outback area with very large koala population
That one had way too much eucalyptus! And there’s more, California Condors
Polar Bears
A very smelly camel
And an interesting buddy program for this wolf and other ambassador animals
But this may have been my favorite sign.
Aw, let’s all have a hug now!
