Cold and raining on and off so we are enjoying a lazy day here at Pebble Cove. We started the morning with local coffee, granola and OJ that Pebble Cove provided and some yogurt that we had picked up at the marina store yesterday. Here’s a picture from last night cooking dinner; small but functional.
We ventured out for a walk around 11. The beach area would be great on a warm day. There’s a fire pit and a row boat that you can take out to the island.
we then went on a hunt for eggs and yes indeed, they were right under the chicken!
We had them scrambled with kale and onion from the garden for lunch. Yummy!
Quite a collection of chickens and goats over by the barn.
Lydia, one of the farm owners, asked if we wanted a ride to Eastsound to spend a couple of hours there and we took her up on that very kind offer. Had a nice stroll around town and stopped in to a couple of galleries and the bookstore. Also had a Stumptown which the sign claimed was a Seattle coffee roaster – hmmm, I seem to recall that they are a Portland company. Picked up a few things at the grocery store and then got a ride back with Lydia. She was just great; showing us all of the local sights and chauffeuring us around in between picking up her boys from school and sports activities. When we got back Matt and Laura and Althea had just arrived. Had a great dinner at the Deer Harbor Inn.
